Steps to Respect lead to being a good sport

Building a Classroom Community of being a Good Sport and Respect

CLASS REWARDS: Students have an opportunity to earn 100 Steps to Respect each week.  
Rewards to be earned but not limited to are: 
Extra Recess, Ice Cream Social, Pajamas Day, Favorite Hat Day, Class Talent Show, Social Time, Extra Computer Lab time, Kickball game and Cheering, Board Games, Special Movie and a Snack, Show and Tell, Wacky Tacky Day, Art Show, Music Show, Drama Show, No Morning Work for a Day, and many other exciting choices.
 
INDIVIDUAL STUDENT REWARDS: Individual students who are consistently  meeting expectations for Work Habits and Conduct on his or her Weekly Progress Report (Tuesday folder) earn  an opportunity to go to The Rewards Station in the Classroom,  Powell Pride Cave, Homework Incentives, and Student of the Week Recognition.   Some students may use Positive Behavior Plans/HUGS to help meet individual goals!  

​LEARNING TEAM REWARDS: Calling all Explorers, Panthers, Jackpots, and Quests! Student have an opportunity to earn group rewards when working together as a team. Teams must show and maintain a Level 4 until all tasks are completed by using the following Social Skills: ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER, LISTEN TO EACH OTHER, TAKE TURNS, DO YOUR SHARE, AND RESPECT LEARNING.  Students are encouraged to solve their own problems. LEARNING TEAM REWARDS include Leaders of the Week Award, Deciding  the class reward for the week, and Leading the class with saying school-wide and classroom expectations.
     
2016-17 SCHOOL YEAR GOAL: Our goal for the year is to consistently earn Bronze, Silver, and Golden Paw status! Students will work towards earning an "End-of-School Year Celebration Fest" which include but not limited to: Nail Art, Face Art, Game Time, Musical Chairs, Special Snack and Social Time, Talent Show, and Dance-Off.  

*STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED AND GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO SOLVE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS
CONSEQUENCES: " QUIET ZONES"  
When students are not meeting expectations, they are asked to go to  "Quiet Zone 1" in the classroom, "Quiet Zone 2" in another 4th grade Teacher's classroom, and "Quiet Zone 3" Talk to an adult (Parent, Buddy/Mentor Teacher,  School Administrator)
